They buy Annual
A referral qualifies only when your friend separately buys an annual membership ($79.99 for the first year). Your discount is then applied automatically to your next Annual renewal. Monthly plans and one-off purchases don’t qualify.

Your first qualifying referral earns $20 off your next Annual renewal. Each additional qualifying referral adds $2, up to 11 qualifying referrals per year ($40 off maximum). Monthly subscribers don’t receive referral credit; it applies only when you buy or renew an Annual plan.

Every friend who creates a free account with your link gets one free single light show download, with no purchase required. They pick any single in Purchases and Downloads, and it’s theirs to keep.
The fine print, in plain words
- No credit for signups alone. A free account earns your friend a free single, but earns you nothing until they buy an annual membership.
- 11 qualifying referrals per year. Up to 11 qualifying referrals count toward your discount each year ($40 max). Friends beyond 11 still get their free single.
- Applied at your next annual renewal. Your earned discount comes off your next Annual renewal, so you need an active Annual plan for it to apply. Monthly subscribers don’t receive referral credit; it applies only when you buy or renew an Annual plan. If you switch to Monthly or cancel Annual, any earned discount is held until you’re back on Annual.
- Yearly reset, no stacking. The discount is used on one renewal. After that, your count resets and you start the new year with 11 fresh slots. Unused amounts don’t carry over or stack across years.
- Annual purchases only. A referral qualifies only when the friend, a new customer, buys an annual membership ($79.99 first year). Monthly plans don’t count.
- One referral per friend, no self-referrals. Each new account can be referred once, and you can’t refer yourself or your own accounts.
